sounds completely bogus to me. you can't sell such licenses, but you can
sell a warrenty areement that covers only a metered number of
installations (of somebody else's software for that matter). this has
absolutely nothing to do with who holds the copyright, the same way you
can go to an insurance company and buy insurace buy insurance for only
one of your two cars, without Subaru having to give that insurance
company any rights or knowledge about how the car is built, rights for
the logo, or indeed ever hear about the name "Migdal insurance" or what
have you.
