After I give it the order to begin installing, it reformats my partitions, copies the installation image to the HD and then - "Preparing for installation". In the middle of the last action, my computer just turns off! Without any message or known reason. This problem repeats itself unless I choose "Minimal Installation". What is the problem?

The installtion process is messing with X and run into problems?
Power saving issues?
Have you tried to modify the bios settings? Have you tried to switch
to other vts (alt+F2, alt+F3, ... or maybe ctrl+alt+F2, ctrl+alt+F3,
..)? Hopefully you will get a console there, or maybe some logs.
Perhaps the installations keeps logs somewhere in the fs?
