No, actually I was serious. You can generate electricity in many ways -
wind turbines, water turbines, natural gas that resides in waste dumps,
and other ways I can't think of at the moment. But before you do that,
keep in mind that you will be committing a felony.
There's a famous story about some Kibbutz up north (don't remember its
name) that was able to generate electricity for its own use (becoming
almost completely independent from the EC) and even toyed with the idea
of selling cheap electricity to nearby towns.
Of course, the corrective forces of the government moved to quickly
solve this irrational efficiency that threatened to destroy the forces
of nature given to us from god (namely, Oberkovitz and his^H^H^Hthe
electric company). They explained to the Kibbutz that they cannot
produce this electricity by themselves, especially if it is (god forbid)
independent from the electric company and they most certainly can't sell
it to nearby towns.
AFAIR the compromise was that they are allowed to produce electricity up
to a certain maximum, but in no way above that.
And the earth rested.
