In the name of the Israeli Perl Mongers [1] I'd like
to invite you to our first conference that will be held on
11th May 2003 in Haifa University. [2]
This will be very different from GO-Linux. Not only because it will be
smaller but because it is a non-profit conference organized by
volunteers. It won't be free[3] but it is quite cheap. It won't have
booth of all kinds of companies marketing their products. While we give
refreshment in the coffee breaks we will let you buy your lunch.
The whole setting is different as we are doing it in the University and
not in the fanciest hotel.
The content will be similar to that of the Developers session of
GO-Linux thought probably even more technical.
There will be more than 20 presentations[4] on 3 tracks including among
other things "Progamming Perl on .NET Environment" which will be
probably very interesting even if you try to avoid using .NET or Perl as
Yevgeny Menaker, the author of the same book will give us the presentation.
There will be several familiar faces from the linux community like Nadav
Har'El , Shlomi Fish, Dov Grobgeld, Reuven Lerner and probably others
about whom I don't know if they are members of the linux community.
We have also invited Mark Jason Dominus (also known as MJD)[5] one of
the most entertaining speakers of The Perl Conferences.
The conference will be a full day and in the end we are going to have a
dinner.
It is a community driven event.
So you are invited to join us. As we would like to get people to decide
early if they come we give a discount on the registration fee to those
who pay by 15th of April so do it quickly.[6]
