The CDs arrived allright on Monday. Thank you.
After some reading I tried to install but the configuration of the base
system failed.
After trying to use anouther CDROM drive -with no better success-, I
noticed some marker lines on the down side of the first two (installation
and first additional) CDs. It is possible that the CD's were stacked, with
nothing between them before the ink dried.
It may well be that this is all the problem. If you, or someone in the
list knows how to clean that without damage to the burned-in data, I would
be very glad to try it.
