Linux machine hangs - SOLVED ???

First 10X for all who helped...

xmms-1.2.8 was a perfect example of getting the machine hang.
after looking around in redhat bugzilla I tried compiling xmms with CFLAGS=-O1 instead of -O2
works like a magic...

I also did a mem check and it passed okay so I guess it's not a hardware but gcc issue?

again 10X allot to all.
