Microsoft Word is a *word processing* format, not a hard-copy format.
Assuming you'd want to view and/or print your candidate's resumes, not
EDIT them, there is no reason to insist on this proprietary format.
PDF or Postcript are good hard-copy formats that you can accept. Not to
mention that plain text, of even HTML, are just as good in this case
(resumes do not typically include graphs, equations, table of contents, or
anything else that word processors are used for), and virtually anyone
can generate plain text or HTML with any software.
