rpm and mandrake

Hi all,
I just installed rpmbuild on mandrake 9.2, but the SOURCE RPM BUILD etc
directories don't exist. I tried adding them manually but rpmbuild won't
recognize them.
How do I set up rpmbuild so I can create an rpm from a tar?
